I love to tell stories. As a high school student, I answered the “Tell us about yourself” question with an application essay that gained me acceptance into the University of California-Berkeley, where I majored in psychology.
After graduation, my personal statement won me a spot at Northwestern University. I was awarded the University Fellowship and earned a master’s degree in human development and social policy.
But I was itching to embrace a new adventure. Again.
One more personal statement later, I had to choose between Cornell’s Ivy League traditions and UCLA’s dynamic department. East Coast, West Coast? Small school, big school? Private or public?
UCLA beckoned with its promises of warm weather, social psychology research, and no classes on Fridays. I completed a master’s degree in sociology while on fellowship.
Now, back in Milwaukee as a full-time magazine editor, my job is to find the story. And as a freelance writer of published essays, I enjoy turning personal experiences into compelling — and true — stories. My work has appeared in Tennis View, Modern Dog, Alimentum, East West, and Audrey. I’m also the author of Cool Jewels: Beading Projects for Teens.
I can help you find your story. And I'd love to help you achieve your goals through compelling writing!
